Existing Bike Plan/Infrastructure
After a concerted effort by local residents, cyclists, and advocates, the City of Alhambra hired Alta Planning to develop its first Bicycle Master Plan in early 2012. An initial draft plan was released to the public in October 2012, and a final version is scheduled to be adopted by City Council in January/February 2012.
At present the City does not have any Class I Bike Paths or Class II Bike Lanes, and few bicycle routes or parking spaces in its commercial districts. The draft plan would begin addressing the lack of bicycle infrastructure by developing a number of Class III Bike Routes and 7 miles of Class II Bike Lanes.
