the sgv bike train - INTRODUCTION
Since January 2011, the Bike Train has introduced community members to existing bicycle infrastructure and the myriad benefits of bicycling as a sustainable form of transportation, physical activity, and recreation. Newcomers build confidence while learning cycling etiquette, maintenance, repair, group riding, and much more. See below for details on upcoming rides!
WHAT IS THE SGV BIKE TRAIN?
A monthly, family- and pet-friendly community bike ride! Supported by our team of LCI-certified bicycle safety marshalls, the Bike Train regularly features the SGV's bicycle superhighway along the Rio Hondo and San Gabriel River paths, also known as the Emerald Necklace. Please note that in 2016 our team voted to diversify the start, time, day-of-the-week, and location of these rides to expose more SGV residents to the region's rich diversity.
Once a Month, 12 Times a Year!
The Bike Train rolls every month, but no longer only on the last Sunday! Due to popular demand and public input, BikeSGV began hosting Bike Train rides on a mixture of Sundays and Saturdays in 2016 to allow those who are not available on Sundays to attend some of our popular, family-friendly rides!
